Meet The Owners

Miss Bri & Mr Tyler

Tyler and Brianna Downey have been married for eight years and share a passion for cultivating excellence in the performing arts. Together, they founded Activated Arts with a vision to restore truth, beauty, and goodness to artistic training while providing families in Junction City and the surrounding communities with exceptional instruction in a life-giving environment.

Brianna brings over a decade of professional performance and teaching experience to the studio. Since 2012, she has performed professionally throughout the United States and internationally in India, Japan, and Italy. As a principal dancer with the acclaimed modern acrobatic dance company Galumpha, she performed award-winning choreography on stages around the world. Her career has also included five seasons as a professional cheerleader supporting the New York Giants, appearances on nationally televised programs including Saturday Night Live, Last Week Tonight with John Oliver, and The Steve Harvey Show, and a performance in the Bruno Mars Super Bowl Halftime Show. Today, she is passionate about investing her experience, knowledge, and love of dance into the next generation of artists.

Tyler's journey into the performing arts began through athletics before discovering a love for theatre and storytelling. He earned dual bachelor's degrees in Theatre Arts and English from Binghamton University, studying acting, directing, and creative writing while developing a deep appreciation for the connection between imagination, voice, movement, and performance. His training includes Linklater and Meisner techniques, and he has performed numerous leading roles on stage in New York and Kansas. An Army veteran and local filmmaker, Tyler is dedicated to helping students develop confidence, presence, and authentic expression both on stage and in front of the camera.
